I do. Sometimes with 3rd person games specifically Dead rising and The Last of Us. Last night i got a bad headache and was nauseous after playing COD WW2.

Doom on N64 was the reason i stopped playing FPS games because i would always get a headache. Titan Fall was the first FPS game i played few years back since N64.

Re: Does anyone suffer from motion sickness playing video games?

Low framerates and slow response times give me motion sickness. I have a plasma tv and a 144hrz 1ms monitor. Helps a lot.

FYI, my roommate was dating a girl who got motion sick on any tv or monitor she had tried before, but she could watch TV on my plasma for hours. Said it was the only thing she could it on.

Unfortunately plasma TVs are hard to find. They are the superior technology, but lost market share to LCD due to a stigma from the first generation of machines. Image burn in was ruining plasma TVs. It was a problem that was quickly fixed, but by the time it was everyone had the impression that buying a Plasma was just throwing money away. I've had a plasma for about 9 years, and it only has extremely slight image burn in that is only visible when the scene is entirely white. It's so slight that I have to be looking closely to really see it.

I strangely don't get sick on 3rd person games as weird as that sounds. I can play a game like Last of Us, Tomb Raider for hours and never budge. 1st person is def my issue... very odd though. I think maybe because yu'r focusing more on your character maybe and not the moving screen???

I got that way when I first started playing battlefield 1....i could only play few minutes and it would kick in.

Now I guess my bodies used to it because I can play that game for hrs and nothing happens.

Now when I was younger just watching games like doom with all quick movement and I'd be heading for bathroom lol.

First person games often have that effect on me. Far Cry 3 was the worst. I couldn’t play that game for ten minutes without suffering from severe nausea and headaches. I think developers are doing something different with their games because I was able to play Far Cry Primal without having any issues.
