Did they say Pre-order to get it in September, otherwise you have to wait til October to play?

During the Ubi showcase, they said it would be added back in post-launch which im hoping is true. At least give the option on/off because I would just put the three AI teammates in the bushes or behind rocks and just have them sit there until I needed them or completed the mission.
