Discussing our 2014 Sports Game of the Year (Roundtable)

This year's sports game of the year discussion was a pretty one-sided affair. Despite the problems at launch, NBA 2K15 managed to win the Gold Medal at the podium running away. Last year's winner, FIFA, didn't even medal this year -- which was somewhat surprising considering its strong effort this past year.

PES sports game of year. Best gameplay of any game.

That's what got my vote.

Every game is completely different. I couldn't care less about menus, licenses, etc. Gameplay is king. In PES, the players are responsive, and I can use my creativity to create chances. The AI is second to none as they mirror the power house teams with stunning accuracy. I play almost every day since its release and I have never seen any scripting whatsoever.

I really don't see how. Madden made massive changes while 2K focused on shoes. The game feels no different and I actually went with Live this year and am pleased. These guys seem so far up 2K's butt it's ridiculous.

You will never get complete agreement on anything but the quality of NBA 2k15 is pretty much common knowledge everywhere. I totally respect what your saying and I enjoyed nba live as well but in the big ream of it all your opinion would be the minority. Not to say your opinion is wrong because it's not that's why it's your opinion. Saying they have their heads so far up 2ks butts is ridiculous is actually ridiculous though.
