Thumbs up Re: TJ's Time Machine - Baseball Stars

Loved the robbing of the homerun.............and when your guy would actually fall over the fence..........Yes, good stuff. A great baseball game.

Re: TJ's Time Machine - Baseball Stars

i would spend days creating teams looking for an 89 or even that oh so elusive 90 player that i could trade my team. at least with emulation you don't have to worry about the reset glitch.

I hated that glitch. It would always happen right when I was getting done with my team.

And My brother and I used the Lovely Ladies cheat to get $$ super fast.

Still one of the best sports games ever. Hoping for Live Arcade release.

Great article....keep em coming.

I'd love to see this game re-made. BUT an even better game to re-make, since you could still make it cartoony, is Little League Baseball. Which was Baseball Stars with Little Leaguers. I've been watching the Little League qualifiers this weekend and it made me think of that game.

Little League Baseball 2K9? It could happen...

Anyway, both great games... Baseball Stars 2? not so much.

Are you talking about how the battery backup would just randomly fail when you reset the game (or turn it off)? Since that happened to all NES games, I don't know if I'd call it a glitch. More of a "feature"....

I lost so many Tecmo Super Bowl seasons to that...

TJ, great job man. This brings back some fond memories. RBI baseball was the game for me around this time. I remember having numerous copies of every version of RBI. I never actually owned Baseball Stars, but spent a lot of time at my cousins house playing it. Of course, Tecmo Bowl, NBA Jam, and old school Tony Hawk on Nintendo would be great ones. I remember loving Roger Clemens baseball back in those days as well. I think that was after the Sega Genesis came out. How about Joe Montana football or Tony Larussa baseball for Genesis? Bases Loaded for Nintendo would be another classic.

I still think Earl Weaver was the best baseball game out there especially with the add-on utilites. The customizing, and the realistic results along with great stat tracking were fantastic. We never played arcade, only manage mode. The AI was better than games nowadays. Great simulation game
