I started today as an intern at a public utilities commission. It is close to my house, has good hours and pays $14/hr which is nice. In the fall I will begin my senior year in college.

Snack bar attendant at a local golf course. Just listen to the radio and do crosswords all day. But the tips are great!

Re: The official "OS Occupation" Thread.

OK I need advice. I have two great job opportunity at J. Hall, one is my current job as a teacher. I work 8 to 3 Monday-Friday. I make about 55,000 a year, but now I have been thinking of being a probation counselor. It is basically a guard at the jail, but there is a lot of OT and it is an easy job, you basically just keep order and you have so much back up, that usually nothing happens to you.
Now here is the kicker with the OT you make about 120,000 and that is no joke either, so now I am thinking about this move, at least for a couple of years.

I wouldn't take the job if you are only doing it for the money unless you absolutely need it. If you like certain aspects of the job and don't mind the OT then I would definitely do it.
