Re: Rivals Recruiting

Auburn Tigers 2017 Recruiting

Every recruiting visit that we had this past season was a poor showing and that hurt our class. We were unable to impress alot of the kids who saw us give up big game after big game and the result was us being a top choice but not getting the commit. The class appeared to be a sure bust but a couple of late signees helped boost the class.

The Tigers let some skilled players get away to focus on priorities. Right now the team is thin on the OLine and without some highly touted commits this season was over before it started. It will still be tough with 1 or 2 true freshman starting on the line but if they can live up to the hype they can save this season.

Most of the commits were in the trenches this year on both sides but a 5 star power back from instate could end up being a big pick up. He wont play this year with Thomas and Hicks returning but that will give him time to develop.

Re: Rivals Recruiting

After a disappointing finish both on the field and in recruiting a year ago, Auburn kicks off the 2018 class with a good start. Auburn landed the #1 RB and #3 overall prospect Mike Robinson from Tennessee, as well as 3 offensive linemen who are all top 5 at their positions. With more room to target other prospects this could be a great class for Auburn who is trying to get their program back on the right track.

Re: Rivals Recruiting

Georgia Bulldogs landed their first group of recruits this week. As of right now they have the number 1 class but, it is really early in the recruiting process.

Chris Burley is a 5 star Wr out of New Jersey. He's the number 2 rated Wr in this years class.

Laurence Tucker is a 6' 7" 252lbs 4 star DE out of Florida. He's the 4th rated DE in this years class. With a 4.58 40 the coaches are hoping he can add some weight and keep his speed.

Lonnie Henderson is a four star G out of New Jersey. He's the 3rd ranked G in this class.

Chauncey Poole is a hard hitting 4 star SS out of Arkansas. He's the 7th ranked SS.

Re: Rivals Recruiting

Auburn Tigers 2018 Recruiting

Auburn pulls their first #1 rank recruiting class. Overall this class is pretty solid with some talented players who fit the direction that Auburn is transitioning into. There are some good individuals that stand out as well, a few of which will likely see the field this year just because of their talent.

One of those guys is Mike Robinson, the top ranked RB in the class. He could be a big addition to the run game to compliment Aaron Hicks, another former #1 ranked back. Ben Burnett is the #2 ranked SS who is a big hitter. He may not see the field this year because of the depth of the Auburn secondary but he has the talent to make plays right now. Quinton Jones, Shawn Forte, Alex Moore, and Luke Turner are all 4 star offensive linemen who are all capable of playing if needed, but if anyone gets significant time this season it will be Jones, the #1 ranked center. Josh Wallace and Gary Tompkins are 2 elite level mlbs who will be key contributors in a year or so for this defense. James Wilkinson is the #7 ranked QB and could be the future of this program when its his turn to run the show.

The Tigers are happy with class and feel that the pieces they are putting in place will have this team on top over night when it clicks.

Re: Rivals Recruiting

Auburn Tigers 2019 Recruiting

For the second consecutive year Auburn pulls the top class in the country, and with a national title to go with the future is looking good for Tiger fans. The prized recruit of the class was 5* RB Dustin King out of Lisle, who some scouts believe is the best back in the country. King brings an element of speed and deceptive strength to a backfield loaded with power backs. King will get a chance to start right away and will have to be a key player if Auburn has any chance of repeating.

WR Eric Conception, C Marcus Herron, and RG Joseph Weber were the other top recruits on offense, all 5* athletes. The defense got the bulk of the players with DT Tate Smith, MLB Bo Patrick, and OLB Javon Watson being the big name guys up front. The Tigers also picked up Jay Palmer and Darren Johnson, two 5* lockdown corners who have great upside. All 5 have the talent to play right away but Smith will likely be the only one who gets on the field this year. The rest will redshirt because of the solid depth ahead of them.

Auburn fans are beyond amped about the second #1 class in a row. The staff has already put together enough solid classes to win a title, but a number 1 class always the goal.
