1 Miami vs 2 Alabama
Tempe Arizona, Fiesta Bowl

1ST
Miami opens the game with Coleman dominating on the ground, 11 play drive takes up half the qtr and ends in 7.
Murphy responds dominating his own drive as it looks like a matchup between the 2 Hiesman candidates, but Murphy has the ball knocked out and the Canes recover on the 1.


7-0 Miami

2ND
Bama forces an interception on Dawson that leads to a 2 play drive and TD by Smith. Dawson is picked again on the next 2 consecutive drives and Bama turns all 3 turnovers into points. 13-7 Bama. Canes get 3 before the half.

13-10 Alabama

3RD
Canes force a punt with back to back sacks but Bama forces a 3 and out. Murphy hits Brown on a slant that goes for 80 after he hurdles a Miami defender. Canes down 20-10 halfway in the qtr look to Dawson to finally get things going but he throws yet another interception. Bama takes over and Carter gets a clean hit on Smith to give Miami the ball back. Dawson leads a drive capped off by a 1yd Cooper TD. 20-17 Bama.

4TH
Bama starts driving again but Spencer picks off Murphy to end the drive. Canes go back to Coleman and kicks off the drive full speed as Cooper cleans it up with another goalline TD. Canes 24-20. Murphy picks up where he left off and dissects Miami's defense who is hoping to hold Bama to 3, but a broken tackle gives Murphy a go ahead TD with 2:41 to go. 27-24 Canes mix in the run and pass, not losing faith in Dawson who now has 0tds and 4ints, one more and thats game. Miami gets in scoring range on 4th and 1 and can tie it for OT but they gamble and get the yard. 0:16 Dawson hits Ferg across the middle but Bama tips it out of his hand. 0:13 Dawson finds the gap in the zone on the outside and finds Burton for the 31-27 lead. Bama has 10 seconds left and they throw a bomb over Miamis defenders, its a TE so Miami runs him down, he breaks a tackle but the last defender appears to pull his facemask......... no call, no time, game over, Miami wins it 31-27 with Dawson completing his only TD pass on a game winning drive.
