I don't know why anyone plays ASB with the pitching cursor and zone indicator on. Turn them both off, turn off vibration setting, and only use the joystick to aim the ball...it makes it a bit harder to pinpoint pitches...especially as you get into the later innings and you start getting tired yourself!

That isn't a bad idea, except for the turning the vibration off part. If you are not going to have either the strike zone or cursor visible, why would you want to just play a big guessing game on where you are going to pitch? It isn't like pitchers are blindfolded in real life.

Because you can still aim pretty well with the stick...it is not a complete gueesing game. Trt it and see what you think. It does add alot of randomness to the game, and there are times when a pitcher can't put it anywhere near where he wants to. It is not perfect, but it is a much better representation of pitching than using the cursor or strike zone indicator....see what you think.

I just tried it, Capa. It actually works pretty good for ASB. Honestly, though, it takes a lot of control and strategy away from me. I love to be able to paint the corners and fool hitters. With this, all I am doing is fooling myself. It does make the game more fun for me to play, but I like to at least have a clue where I am going to be throwing the pitch. I wouldn't use it in any other game, but it isn't a terrible idea for ASB only. Thanks bro

Ken Griffey Jr. on N64 was great cursor baseball.

Actually, in ASB one of the big problems with the pitching interface is that you can put the ball anywhere you want. It is way too pinpoint. When your pitcher gets tired, he will start to miss a little, but it is still very slight. He definitely will lose velocity, though, causing him to start getting shelled.

In High Heat, the mound visits definitely can calm a pitcher down. We will see if it works in ASB this year.

The big problem I had with the fatigue in ASB was that unless he was 100%, your pitchers couldn't throw breaking pitches for anything. Especially the relievers, who were only good for about one batter if they relied on a breaking pitch (Scott Sauerbeck)

Exactly!! That problem seriously needs to be addressed. I know that when pitchers get tired in real life they lose some snap on their curve but not THAT MUCH! Acclaim is at least trying to be realistic but that, IMO, is far from it.

I remember that by the third or fourth inning a curve ball would be dead flat, almost the same as a changeup.
