Not sure if this is already posted elsewhere, but if you rapid-tap the A button (or whatever button your layout uses for pitching) you'll add a few MPH to your pitches. Try this yourself in practice mode. With Matsuzaka, for example, his fastballs typically go about 90-92 MPH, but when you rapid-tap you can get up to 95.

Or you could use expert pitching and just hold the button down to increase your velocity a lot easier.
