(The Lack of) Seeing the ball fly off the bat in BTP View

In all of the ASB05 videos that I've seen so far, you never are able to see the ball fly off of the bat while you're pitching. In other words, once the bat makes contact with the ball, you are automatically redirected to the fielder cam. You never see the ball actually fly into a certain direction off the bat.

It's a small nitpick but during real baseball broadcasts, you always see where and how high or low the ball is hit while the camera is still panned on the pitcher & batter. Do you guys know if the ASB team will address this "issue"? After all, they are trying to reproduce a true baseball telecast's presentation.

I wouldn't so much as call this an issue, but as a matter of preference. Remember, it's a video game, if they did that you'd have the following scenarios:

-less reaction time b/c you wouldn't know if the ball being hit was closer to the SS or 3B, and who you're controlling.
-A slight hiccup where you would see the ball travel off the bat for a bit, then see it again when the view is switched.

I wouldn't want to make the sacrifice, gameplay-wise... That's just me though...

yeah i wouldnt expect them to address this, it switches fast in behind the batter view as well, just not as dramatic

After thinking it over, I guess you guys are right. Fielders do have to make their move right AT the crack of the bat. Not a second after the ball hit the bat.

Yeah, I think it would nearly impossible to recreate that accuratly any other way using the filding view. Unless a game was designed much like Ultimate Baseball Online, where each fielder is controller by a different user. Then you can do it like you described, and in fact it works very well. But in a game such as this, where you control each fielder, every millisecond counts .
