The Vikings are 0 for 4 in the Super Bowl. What is with this pic?

Maybe since they won the NFL championship in 1969 but lost in the Super Bowl against the AFL KC Chiefs.

Calling a team that LOST in the Super Bowl world champions is pushing it a bit though...

the superbowl is only 37 years old so mayb they won a championship before it waas called a superbowl

They won a world championship before the "Super Bowl" was created, so they were "world champions" of the NFL. Just cuz it was pre-Super Bowl doesn't mean you dismiss all the past champions, and greats like Jim Brown...

Up until 1970 the NFL and AFL were still seperate leagues, even though there respective champions met in the Super Bowl since 1966.

The Vikings' only NFL Championship was in 1969, but they lost to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

Whomever researched teams for Gameday must have seen the Vikings listed as 1969 NFL Champions, and thought that it meant a "world" championship.

The Super Bowl has always determined which team was considered world champions.

It wasn't Pre-Super Bowl though, it was pre-merger but not pre-Super Bowl.
