Texas HS game goes to 12 OT's

That article doesn't explain exactly why it went to 12 overtimes. The team that lost needed to win by 8 points in order to go to the playoffs. The team that won just needed to win. The losing team couldn't quite stop the winning team from scoring in overtime, so they had to match them with whatever they scored in an overtime period. They ended up not being able to pull it off, but it sounds like a valiant effort. Wonder how many people stayed all game.

In the 2nd OT Nachodoches score and missed the PAT. They had to win by 7 to advance to the playoffs. Since they missed the PAT they had to go to another OT. They let Jacksonville score with the mindset to block the kick. Well they didn't block the kick, the snap instead went over the holders head and they stopped him that way. Rest of the game just snowballed like that. Took 2.5 hours to finish OT.
