FPSFB?

Anyone still playing Front Page Sports FB? This was a classic which was partially responsible for forcing the Madden series to include franchise mode.

I got hold of a copy of FPS 95, but couldn't figure out how to get it running on Windows 7....

Re: FPSFB?

I think I downloaded FPSFB 98 a year or so ago. It was really good. I just couldn't get it to run consistently on my Vista laptop.

I think I installed FBPRO 98 in my windows 7 a few months ago and had no problems. You can find it here:

Re: FPSFB?

There is also a facebook group for folks who like FBPro. May be able to find some players and leagues there.

Re: FPSFB?

Are there links to updated rosters on the facebook page? I'll have to check that out.

Football Pro was amazing. Most amount of depth I've ever seen in a football game.

Re: FPSFB?

It remains my favorite football sim of all time. But I've given up on trying to run it anymore. It was pretty easy to find a copy of FPS FB98 and get it running under Win98 compatibility mode.

But I find after playing a few weeks worth of games, something will go wrong with a DLL file or a saved game file, and then you are completely toast. The game just isn't meant to run in a Win7 environment and something always goes wrong given enough time.

It's too bad. The FPS Baseball and Football games were so far ahead their time. I've toyed around with Professional Football simulator (the graphics are impossible to follow) and Maximum Football (really, really buggy). 13 years later and nobody can make a game which competes with all FPS allowed you to do.

It runs absolutely fine for me (Win7 64-bit). I do have to resort to a winxp virtual machine for some of the third party utilities, but otherwise, none of the problems you mention have ever occurred with me. I don't even have to run it in compatibility mode.
