Where are the tweets?

I saw those. Peter Moore was saying he couldn't discuss the exclusivity term, so the guy @BringBack2KFB showed the cover of Madden 06 to Peter Moore that had the words "Exclusive NFL License" printed on it. That was funny. EA has to realize that people know better.

Not so true. Many times, companies put employees under a retainer so they are not allowed to talk about any deals until the ink is dry. In this case, Peter Moore is a high level exec and I am sure he is not going to say anything to possibly break a multi-million dollar deal. In my industry - and more specifically my job position - many times I am not even allowed to discuss future partnerships and opportunities with co-workers. These kinds of contracts and deals take a lot of legal hurdling.

As the saying goes, "You aren't in Hollywood shooting commercials until you're IN Hollywood shooting commercials."

Ya your pretty much saying what I'm saying.. There are reports they have already renewed their deal and "the ink is dry" so to speak. If everything was all secure, why not come out and say so like they have every single other time..

Not saying there isn't a deal in place. I'm just curious as to why they're acting so conservative. Either the deal hasn't been inked yet like you mention or there are terms they aren't happy about like losing exclusivity.

Just my opinion.. Until Monday

It is just unbelievably frustrating that we cannot do anything, at all, but sit back and watch EA Sports make more terrible "football" games. sigh.

I have to agree, unfortunately as much I hate to say it.. You have to think about it, EA will probably fight to the end to keep the exclusive rights with the NFL. Why? Because they fear what the outcome would be. They know what would happen if they did, the same thing that happened to NBA Live would happen to Madden! They know they would lose, like NBA 2K took over NBA Live. NFL 2K would take out Madden in a heartbeat and they know it themselves. They don't have the developers to compete with the competition. The fear of losing their Cash Cow?? I don't see it happening, the NFL is their safety net, they are keeping Madden alive.. It's sad if you think about it, EA has to rely on the NFL to keep them afloat..
