Re: NFL Fever, RIP
I actually bought NFL Fever 2002 when it made its debut alongside the new Xbox. And then I returned it a month later to get NFL2k2 for the Xbox. When i first popped the game in, i was greeted with authentic NFL Films Presents music (John Facenda era) and some of the best looking graphics ever in an NFL video game. After playing with the game for a while, about two or three weeks, I came to realize that this game was RELYING on flash because it had NO substance. Kind of like a good looking chick with a rotten personality. This game has no substance or soul. It does not engulf you in an NFL experience, making you forget reality for a few hours because you just scored the game winning field goal. Who knows? Maybe when Microsoft gives us their second chance at a great NFL video game, it will be on the Xbox Next in November 2005. If this is the case, then it is a very good strategy to halt production on a losing title, in order to concentrate their time, efforts and money on a next-gen console NFL title. I wish them luck. Until then, gamers at least have two big players to choose from; NFL2k5 and Madden 2005.
