"sucks" all schools are not like this. We have to share our players with a bigger high school down the road. We still are decent, but Waco High usually has better talent. Ala Derrick Johnson and Vince Carter to name a few. We have pretty much just had Walter Abercombie and LaDanian Tomlinson, Waco High produces college talent every yr.

I remember that game. It was on ESPN. I wouldn't mind seeing a Cali team come play a team from AL like Hoover or Opelika. I know a lot of AL high school teams go to FL to play some of those "powerhouses". They seem to hold their own winning about half the time.

teams around the country (mainly in cali, ohio, and new england) recruit for sports. In texas, the story is different. you have to go to the school you are zoned to and there are strict rules against trying to get around this rule. Also something that goes against texas HS football is that fact that every other state in the US plays by HS football rules and Texas plays by NCAA rules so if they played out of state they would have to change their gameplan. [some examples: no cut blocking (which eliminates roll out plays), you can't return kicks from the endzone, and numersous gameplaning rules such blitzing restrictions.] The talent level in texas is higher than cali and the rest of the nation but the teams arent as good because the talent level is spread out by these zoning rules.
