Capital One Cup Round Two
28 August 2012
Upton Park, East London

West Ham 2-0 Wolverhampton

Scoring Summary
34' Alou Diarra - WHU
76' Matt Jarvis - WHU

Dominating Performance Results In 2-0 Victory Over Wolves

Upton Park- Without a win and facing Championship side Wolves in their round two cup tie, pressure was high on Big Sam and the boys to produce a victory, and produce one they did, as they easily moved into the third round with a fantastically played 2-0 triumph. New boys Alou Diarra and Matt Jarvis each scored their first goals for the club, while in goal keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen had easily his best game of the season, restoring some of the faith that was lost in the first two tilts. Fiesty throughout, both clubs suffered injuries during the match, but none more serious than the broken elbow of Hammers midfielder Mohamed Diame, recovery could take as long as two months.

Hammers Pull A Rabbit From Their Hat With Swoop Signing Of Butland!

Highly Touted England Under 21 Keeper Jack Butland Headed To Upton Park

London- With the likes of Chelsea, both Manchester clubs, and Arsenal all having been linked to England under-21 international keeper Jack Butland in recent weeks, many felt it was just a matter of time before he left Championship Midlands side Birmingham City in a transfer switch, what nobody saw coming however was the swoop, bid, and capture of the 19 year old by West Ham United, but with just a few scant hours left before the summer window closed, an obviously pleased Sam Allardyce announced that it was indeed true, and that Butland was headed to Upton Park in a £1,750,000 transfer deal. Terms with the player were not released, but he was believed to have received a new four year deal. In other transfer news, controversial but very very talented striker Carlos Tevez, a former West Ham player himself, received the biggest deal this deadline day, with Manchester City receiving £20 million pounds from Spanish powerhouse Barcelona. Several other players also changed addresses during the final few days of business, here's a listing of the top deals that were consummated over the past few days:

1. Striker Carlos tevez goes from Manchester City to Barcelona in a £20 million pound deal

2. Brazilian midfielder Ramires goes from Chelsea to Athletico Madrid in a £12 million pound deal.

3. With Thiago Silva now in the fold, defender Mamadou Sakho was deemed expendable by PSG, he's gone to Bayern Munich in a £10.5 million pound move.

4. 20 year old LW Atsu goes from Porto to Juventus for £8.5 million pounds.

5. In an eight million pound deal, Aston Villa have shipped striker Darren Bent to fellow Premier League club Manchester City.

6. Looking to get younger in midfield, Manchester United have purchased 21 year old Serbian international Alen Stevanovic from Torino for £7.5 million pounds.

7. Porto continued their payroll slashing, sending 27 year old centre back Rolando to Sunderland for £7 million pounds.

8. PSV have sold 24 year old winger Jeremain Lens to Wigan Athletic for £6.5 million pounds.

9. Relegated and needing to cut wages, Hertha Berlin have sold 27 year old Colombian forward Adrian Ramos to Ligue 1 champions Montpellier for £5.5 million pounds

10. Finally, Feyenoord have sold 20 year old Dutch centre-back Stefan de Vrij to Real Madrid for £5 million pounds.

Butland Shines As Hammers Nick Fulham For First League Win

Hammers Battle Back From Slow Start To Earn Draw With Canaries

Carrow Road- Buoyed by the home crowd, Norwich City got off to a flying start this afternoon, back footing West Ham for most of the first half, but some fine keeping by Jussi Jaaskelainen, including a penalty save on Grant Holt kept the Norwich lead at just 1-0 at the break. In the second half however the Hammers found their legs and quickly leveled the match when at the 49' minute mark, Kevin Nolan ripped a vicious strike past John Ruddy from 12 yards out. From then on it was all West Ham, as they time and again threatened to steal the match, but a winner was not to come and the clubs would share the spoils in the end.

Scoring Summary

Jarvis Strikes Late In Extra Time To Advance Hammers

Upton Park- Scoreless through all of regulation and the first period of extra time thanks to some spectacular keeping from West Ham's Jack Butland and Swansea's Michel Vorm, it was the Hammers who finally broke the deadlock, when winger Matt Jarvis took a fantastic one touch pass from Ricardo Vaz Te and smashed it deep into the far corner just past the outstretched hands of Vorm to make it 1-0 for West Ham with just four minutes remaining. Suddenly rejuvenated as Upton Park erupted around them, the Hammers easily salted away a dejected Swansea club to move one step closer to a trip to Wembley.

Re: West Ham United: Forever Blowing Bubbles

New FIFA 13 patch dropped today, new squad update dropped a few days ago, so on the surface it looks safe to start a new CM. I am first going to sim a test season or two to make sure there is no more freezing issues, if not I'll start a new dynasty shortly. Thanks in advance to anyone who still has any interest in reading anything of mine LOL. It's not been the best of starts I can tell you that.

Re: West Ham United: Forever Blowing Bubbles

Well I'll be, the game finally works! WOO-HOO!!!!!! Now I can get down to the business of getting a real multi-season CM going without any fears of the dreaded freezing bug. Expect a fresh dynasty up soon....
