Operation Sports Modified Series

Welcome everyone to my newest project..the Operation Sports Modified Series. This will be a fictional modified series using the Whelen modified mod for NASCAR Racing 2003. It will be a series that visits many different tracks throughout this beautiful country of ours, some still in business, and some that have sadly closed. We will visit short tracks, one-mile ovals and even possibly a road course or two. I am putting the finishing touches on our inaugural season schedule and hope to release it soon. We are looking at a 15-round race for the championship with the winner being crowed at the end of the season. Unlike the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, the winner of the OSMS will be the one at the end of the season with the most points, no Chase here. Sacramento, CA (AP) – The inaugural schedule of the Operation Sports Modified Tour has been released this afternoon and it comes with a wide variety of different race tracks. The tour will visit short quarter-mile tracks like the infamous Bowman-Gray stadium, as well as run a nearly two-mile west coast road course in the beautiful Portland area.

“We really wanted this first season to showcase the talent we will have on tour,” Direct Don Thompkins said at a news conference, “This is about showing America some of the best open wheel modified drivers as they put on a tremendous show.”

Out of the 16-round schedule seven will include the full 43-car field fans are used to seeing on a Sunday afternoon watching NASCAR.

“We really wanted to open the field to everyone we could. Not all tracks can hold 43 competitors, but if they are able to, we wanted to open the field. This will make these races even more exciting, as one mistake could cost you a chance at the OSMT Championship.”
