DC United dominated the Team of the Competition with four players. I only had one, Joe Bendik, who somehow beat the Goalkeeper of the Year for the spot. I thought Michael Bradley deserved a spot but nope.

Last season we placed three players on the Team of the Competition: Bendik, Bradley Orr and Doneil Henry. Orr was actually loaned to us the first season and returned to Blackburn so he wasn't able to help us this year. Henry is young and still has a lot of upside.

Time to look back on the season before starting a new season.

We were terrible at the start of the MLS season and got wiped out at the pre-season tournament. We were great during a seven game winning streak but struggled after the midway point including a horrible 6-1 loss to New England. I feel like the wheels came off against Montreal in the Canadian Championship which we lost on a late away goal.

That CONCACAF semifinal against Club Leon seems like a lifetime ago.

With Defoe getting older, we're going to try to cash out on him before it gets too late. We're going to need find someone else this season to make up for his goal scoring or some of the other guys are going to need to step up. That won't be easy.
