Monthly Preview - October 2015

(As Fifa doesn't show the games' results in the calendar screen, I won't be posting an image for monthly reviews anymore. Instead, I'll just mix it with the preview)

September was a good month. We only had a single loss and that was to current league leaders of Sheffield Wednesday away from our home and even that was a hard fought effort (that blown lead still hurts a little, though). Yeah, we had two "0-0s" but one of them was against those rich kids from QPR and they aren't a bad team. The only game where we really failed to earn points was the other 0-0 against Birmingham. Their team is awful and we should have won.

September stats: Cook, Gauld and Wood are the top scorers in our team with 3 goals each. Pavón leads the team with 3 assists.
Championship player of the month: Craig Bryson (CM - Derby County)


October should be an easier month and we really should enjoy this opportunity to pile up some points for a run for the promotion. Cardiff and Bolton are the only teams we face (in the league) who currently are on the top half of the table, though the latter is more mid-table than top per se (Bolton's sitting at the 11th position). The game against Preston will be harder than usual because, aside from it being away, Gauld and Bernardi will be serving their national team, but the game against MK Dons is a must-win as they are the second-to-last team right now and we'll be in front of our home crowd.
For the league cup, we made it to the round of 16 and already obliterated the board expectations of making it to the round of 32. Now, we face a tough challenge as a premier league squad - Newcastle United - comes to town. I don't think we can go all the way but this upset isn't impossible as it seems

This was another boring game without much action until Bellusci decided he had to lose the ball inside his own box. Blackburn scored, we launched a desperate offensive and conceded another one. This month surely is off to a great start.

Well, we had conceded 6 goals in the first 10 games. Now we conceded 3 in the last 2, but our defense isn't the problem right now. Our offense simply is a no-show, mainly because Gauld has been struggling mightly in the last few games. Now we can only hope he finds his form again when playing with the Scots because we surely went down with his play level.
