Week 2 of Monday Night Main Event brought us 6 matches in the Intercontinental League. Despite it being early in the season there are some big matches tonight as each wrestler only has 7 regular season matches. Goldust, Drew McIntyre, Sami Zayn Zack Ryder and Rusev are all looking to go 2-0. Aiden English and Jinder Mahal are making their season 1 debuts. Meanwhile, Heath Slater, Bobby Roode, Rhyno, John Morrison, and Baron Corbin are looking to pick up their first win of the season. The night started off with Goldust facing Heath Slater. Goldust picked up the win going to 2-0 and sending Heath Slater to 0-2 after hitting the Final Cut. In the second match of the night Bobby Roode defeated Aiden English after delivering the Glorious DDT. Roode evened his record at 1-1. Drew McIntyre looked dominant once again winning another divisional matchup after delivering the Claymore to Mahal. Rhyno picked up his first win of the season defeated Zack Ryder after hitting a spear. Baron Corbin faced off with Rusev in the 2nd to last match of the night. Rusev was able to defeated Corbin after locking in the Accolade. This gave Rusev a very big 2nd win while sending Baron Corbin to an 0-2 start. In the Main Event John Morrison faced off with Sami Zayn. Prior to the match beginning Baron Corbin attacked Zayn after last week’s embarrassing loss. Unfortunately for Zayn, he was unable to come back from the pre-match beatdown and Morrison delivered the Moonlight Drive for the win. Analysis Spoiler - We had some wild results tonight and a few stars are starting to distance themselves early. - Rusev, McIntyre, and Goldust all picked up their 2nd win in 2 weeks with Rusev and McIntyre picking up their 2nd divisional win. - Rhyno, Morrison, and Roode all picked up their first wins of the season. - Ryder and Zayn fell to 1-1 and couldn’t follow up their week 1 performance - English and Mahal both failed in their season debuts. - Corbin and Slater both fell to 0-2 - The bigger storyline of tonight was Corbin’s pre-match attack on Sami Zayn. With the new league format it will be interesting to see what kind of reaction the antics of Corbin brings from Rainier Wilz.

In the Women’s Team Challenge League, Triple B faced the Divas of Doom. - Beth Phoenix and Natalya stepped back in the ring together for the first time in a long time and looked no worse than the last time. Phoenix and Natalya picked up a big tag win in their return to the ring when Natalya made Bayley to the sharpshooter. - Triple B picked up their first point of the night when Becky Lynch picked up a big win over Ronda Rousey. - In the deciding 6-woman match, the Divas of Doom showed their team work was better and picked up the win when Rousey returned the favor to Becky picking up the fall. - Divas of Doom win the series: 5 pts – 1 pt. In the first Men’s Team Challenge League match, the New Day faced off with the Miztourage - The New Day switched up their lineup this week and it started off good as Big E and Xavier Woods picked up with the win in the tag match over Axel and Dallas after hitting the Up, Up, Down, Down on Axel. - The leader of The Miztourage came back for his team and delivered the Skull Crushing Finale to Kofi Kingston - In the 6-man match, the match broke down into a melee and Miz used the commotion to deliver the Skull Crushing Finale to Big E - Miztourage win the series: 4 pts – 2 pts In the second Men’s Team Challenge League match, the Balor Club faced off with American Alpha - Gable and Jordan reunited tonight and showed that they hadn’t lost a beat. They used their amateur background to pick up the big tag team win after hitting High Amplitude on Karl Anderson. - Finn Balor brought the match closer after hitting Benjamin with a shotgun kick in the corner followed by the Coup de Gras. - Despite teaming for the first time ever, the combined experience of Gable and Jordan and Gable and Benjamin, along with their amateur backgrounds was enough for American Alpha to pick up the win as Benjamin pinned Balor after hitting Paydirt - American Alpha wins the series: 5 pts – 1 pt Analysis Spoiler After every TCL Match in week one finished in a tie or a clean sweep by the winning team. Tonight was completely different as every match had a split in the singles and tag matches. - The Divas of Doom looked good as a team. The veterans, Beth Phoenix and Natalya showed that they were not to be messed with. Other than Becky’s big singles win, Triple B didn’t fare to well tonight. It will be interesting to see how each team progresses in the league. - Coming off a clean sweep loss last week, the New Day went with a different lineup this week and while it started off successful it was the 6-man match that was so surprising. It wasn’t so surprising that Miz won the singles match, but the 6-man win was considered a big upset. The New Day are now 0-2 in series matches and have only picked up a single overall win with tonight’s tag win. - The Balor Club faltered after their big sweep over the Wyatt Family as Balor was the only one to pick up a win. - In 2 of the 3 matches tonight, the team that won the tag match went on to win the 6-man match as well. It will be interesting to see how every

Tonight we bring you the quick results from Week 2 of World Championship Wednesday. We were witness to 2 World Women’s and 4 World Championship League matches. In the Women’s World Championship Match we saw two women coming off of big loses in week 1 as Nia Jax faced off with Tamina. In the End, Nia Jax was able to pick up a big win in this battle of forces in the women’s league after she delivered a series of leg drops. In the 2nd match of the Women’s World Championship Match the Empress of Tomorrow, Asuka battle the War Goddess, Ember Moon. Moon put up a good fight in this match but in the end Asuka was just too much and locked in the Asuka Lock for the win. In the Men’s World Championship League, Big Show faced Braun Strowman in what many people are dubbing the Andre the Giant division. Big Show was able to pick up the win after delivered a chockeslam to Strowman. Chris Jericho made his debut in the WWL facing off against John Cena, who was coming off of a big loss last week to Randy Orton. Jericho delivered the Code Breaker to pick up the win. Shinsake Nakamura faced off with Kevin Owens, who was making his seasonal debut. Owens put up a good fight but in the end Nakamura delivered Kinshasa to a kneeling Owens and picked up the pin. AJ Styles faced off with the debuting Dolph Ziggler and a technical matchup. Styles delivered a Phenomenal Forearm followed by the Styles Class to pick up his 2nd win of the season. Analysis Spoiler - Nia Jax picked up a much needed win in a match between 0-1 superstars. Tamina falls to 0-2 with only 5 matches remaining in the regular season. - Asuka and Ember Moon were both coming off of wins so Asuka’s win gives her the big tiebreaker for a potential first round bye in the playoffs. - Big Show picked up big win in his League debut, while sending Strowman to a shocking 0-2 start to the season with BOTH loses coming in divisional matches. - Nakamura continues to shine in his division picking up his 2nd straight divisional win and starting off 2-0, meanwhile Owens fell in his seasonal debut. - Chris Jericho picked up a win in his seasonal debut, while knocking John Cena to a shocking 0-2 with both loses coming within the division. - AJ Styles picked up a 2nd straight divisional win while giving Ziggler his loss in his seasonal debut.

The new leadership in this World Wrestling League made a collective decision to take us out of the main Team Challenge League and place us in the NXT Team Challenge League.” Fish: “Yeah, and then they decide to NOT feature us in the first match of the season last week but instead those lunatics from Sanity and those fools British Strong Style.” O’Reilly: “And to finish it off, they try to not put us on the air this week as well.” Cole: “These fools obviously have no clue on how to run a successful wrestling business. Let me clue you in a little bit boys. You don’t leave your top group out of the top league and you definitely don’t keep your top group off of TV. You don’t know what you have done. You have just signed a death sentence for the other 3 teams in this league. Undisputed Era will not only march through this league but we will take the Team Challenge League next year by storm and destroy all of them team. Next week Forgotten Sons will be the first to understand what is in store.” In the NXT Tag League, we saw the Street Profits face off with TM-61. The match ended when the Profits delivered a Pop-Up Spinebuster followed by a Frog Splash to Miller. After the match TM-61 attacked The Street Profits and declared that TM-61 was no more and The Mighty was here. In the 2nd tag match league, Heavy Machinery faced off with 1-2 and while Burch and Lorcan fought hard the big men in Heavy Machinery were just a little too much for them as they delivered the Compactor to Lorcan for the win. Both teams shook hands after the match. One week after taking out Tommaso Ciampa, “The Freak” Lars Sullivan took down Johnny Gargano with the Freak Accident pushing his record to 2-0 in the league. In the Main Event, Andrade “Cien” Almas made a successful debut while sending Roderick Strong to a surprising 0-2 after delivered a hammerlock DDT. Analysis Spoiler NXT TCL League: - While their were no matches in this league tonight, the Undisputed Era put the entire league, as well as the entire WWL on notice for not being featured yet. NXT League: - Lars Sullivan is off to a fast start defeated both members of the former #DIY tag team. Meanwhile, Ciampa and Gargano face off next week with the loser falling to 0-3. - Roderick Strong is off to a horrible 0-2 start after losing 2 straight division matches. Meanwhile, Black and Almas will face off next week to see who will go 2-0 to start the season. NXT NA League: - Velveteen Dream picked up a huge 2nd win of the season in a league with a double round-robin format. With each superstar only wrestling 6 total matches a 2-0 start is huge, especially since he has already beaten Ohno once this year. Ohno picked up a big win after losing last week to Dream. NXT Tag League: - The NXT Tag League got off to its start this week, another league with a double round -robin format and no playoffs both Heavy Machinery and Street Profits got off to good starts. The Might showed a new side after their match. In 2 weeks, the two teams that won will face off with the 2 teams that lost so things could either tighten up or get spread out. NXT Women’s League - Nikki Cross picked up another huge win and is 2-0 after 2 weeks. This is a big star got Cross in a league where everyone only has 6 total matches. She already has a 2 win lead over the Baszler and Aliyah

In the Women’s Team Challenge League Series, the IIconIcs (Billy Kay/Peyton Royce) defeated Absolution (Sonya Deville/Mandy Rose) after delivering the Sick Knee from Sydney to Deville. Rose looked a little peeved at Deville but Paige got them back together. Paige got Absolution back on track after delivering the Paige-Turner to Emma to pick up the win. Absolution rode the momentum of Paige’s win over Emma earlier in the night into the 6-woman tag match. Paige picked up the pinfall over Billie Kay after delivering the Paige Turner. Analysis Spoiler Women’s TCL: - Absolution picked up the win in a match between 2 teams competing for the first time, but there seemed to be some dissention between Rose and Deville after the tag match. We will see if Paige can keep them together. Women’s World: - Carmella not only picked up her second win of the season, but both wins were in the division, meanwhile Tamina has had a rough 2 weeks and has fallen to a surprising 0-3 already, including 2 loses in the division. - Naomi picked up her second win, both in the division tonight, meanwhile Maryse fell to 0-3. - Alexa Bliss picked up her first win of the season, while sending Mickie James to an 0-2 start on the season NXT Womens League: - Vega had a successful debut while the EST fell to a very disappointing 0-2 on the season.

World Tag League: - Both The Revival and The ascension were making their season debuts in this matchups. The Ascension were very aggressive and in the end that cost them as the ref was distracted by Viktor the Revival were able to hit the Shatter Machine on Konnor and Dawson made the cover for the pin. - The Hardys were coming off of their big win last week over the Authors of Pain and looked to go 2-0 against Titus Worldwide. In the end, Matt delivered a Twist of Fate followed by a Swanton by Jeff on Crews for the win. US League: - Mojo Rawley was coming off of a disappointing loss last week while Jose was coming off of a somewhat surprising win. At the end of the match both men ended up 2-0 as Mojo delivered a huge shoulder block to pick up the win. - R-Truth and Curt Hawkins were both making their seasonal debuts and Truth delivered a scissor kick to pick up the win. IC League: - Goldust was looking to start the season 3-0, but ran into a surprising roadblock in Aiden English who was coming off of a week 1 loss. English delivered the Director’s Cut for the win. - Heath Slater was looking for his 1st win of the season when he stepped in the ring with Jinder Mahal but in the end Mahal sent Slater to 0-3 while evening out his record at 1-1 after delivering the Khallas. - Sami Zayn was coming off a disappoint loss on Monday night after Baron Corbin got involved, while Rusev was coming off a win over Corbin. Baron Corbin showed up during this match, having lost to both of them in the last week. Corbin tried to cost Zayn the match but ended up costing Rusev the match and Zayn delivered a Helluva Kick knocking Corbin off of the ring apron and picking up the win. Analysis Spoiler World Tag League: - The Hardys picked up their 2nd win of the season in their division. They have a couple weeks off before their next match but will end the season with both Triple Threat matches as well as their final 2 tag matches. - Titus Worldwide fell to 0-1 this week and will face off with AoP in 2 weeks. - The Revival made a successful debut in the league picking up a big win. - The Ascension have a huge challenge next week as they face one of the Usos, who are the favorites to win their division. US League: - Mojo Rawley was able to even his record after his loss last week and R-Truth was able to pick up a win in his seasonal debut. - Jose was looking for a 2nd big win of the season, but instead fell to 1-1, while Hawkins lost his debut. IC League: - Aiden English shocked the league after beating the undefeated Goldust in a divisional matchup. Goldust was looking to take a huge divisional lead with a win, but it didn’t pan out. - Jinder Mahal got a big win in the division while sending Slater to an 0-3 record. At this point it’s going to be tough for Slater to recover as he only has 4 matches left. It’s definitely an uphill climb. - Sami Zayn bounced back after a disappointing Monday, while handing Rusev his first loss. The bigger question is going to be how Corbin is going to be reprimanded for his recent action.
