I'll be pretty happy if the current AL standings don't change. Baltimore at Cleveland, Toronto at Seattle in the wildcard round? Count me in. The atmosphere at Safeco (Mariners' 1st playoff appearance in 21 years, thousands of invading Jays fans from western Canada) would be electric.

So I was at work thinking where my life went wrong ( I'm kidding, sort of...) and was listening to a fantasy baseball podcast and the 2 hosts are big Mets fans and their guest for that episode was...another Mets fan too so they went on to mainly talk about the Mets for like 20 minutes. I didn't mind it that much since it was (mostly) from a fantasy aspect. Anyways, they were talking about how awesome deGrom is (he is) and I thought:

"ummm, Scherzer has been pretty good too, if deGrom stays healthy (big IF) this might be the best top-2 playoffs rotation since Johnso...walk it back walk it back , since Halladay and Lee?"

And I took a look at some of the top 2 duo's by Baseball Reference WAR since 2001 on teams that made the playoffs. These were the results:

I'm a bit proud that Johnson & Schilling and Halladay & Lee actually were at the top list (seems I haven't forgotten everything) :P

PS: I ordered the names by the pitcher who had the higher bWAR that season.
