It may be better odds to pick the field but logically everyone would pick the Dodgers as the best team and easily better than last year's squad that won.

To not pick them is just trying to go against the grain and wishful thinking.That being said,sometimes the best team doesn't always win it all.

It's been what, a quarter century since any team has repeated as champion, so on the one hand that's the Dodgers biggest challenge.
On the other hand, we are way overdue for a team to repeat. LA has a strong a chance as any previous champion to go for a repeat. I think the Dodgers wildcard will be how formidable Shohei will be as a pitcher once he returns to the mound. If he somehow hurts himself furher by pitching to the point he can't even DH, LA might be the only team that can keep LA from repeating.

I'm also going to say because of a teams hunger, the Mets are hungrier than LA, and we get a Subway Yankees-Mets Series.
