Re: Realignment ideas from Rosenthal

The only one that I think evenly remotely makes sense is the Modest realignment, but I think that is still a bit ridiculous especially with the BoSox going to the AL Central. The other ones are just downright absurd.

What I think they need to do is expand to 32 teams and have each league be composed of 4 4-team divsions which would make the most sense considering only 4 teams from each league make the playoffs. Of course, this is probably just as unlikely as the above proposals if not moreso.

Same here. I think both leagues should have the same number of teams and all divisions should have the same number of teams. Or at least have geographically corresponding diviosn have the same number of teams (i.e. AL Central has the same # of teams as NL Central). Of course with the current way scheduling is done, that is impossible.

Just get rid of the inordinate amount of divisional games and there wouldn't be any more complaining as there's (I believe I'm correct) 72 games to be played w/in the division. Personally, I'm tired of seeing Washington or Philly...I'd rather see the Cubs, Rockies, etc.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Yep that's certainly the other way to fix things. The balanced schedule produced a more fair situation for the most part in that you don't have a team whaling on their own division but doing nothing at all outside of it.

I doubt they would ever do away with having a wild card playoff team. More than likely if they did add two teams they would just make the AL like the NL with two divisions of 5 teams and one division of 6.

Or get rid of interleague...

I'm in favor of abolishing interleague. I'd rather see the teams competing for the same playoff spot face each other, not the other league.

I'm all for doing away with unbalanced schedule. I don't think any of the playoff races have been effected by having so many head-to-head matchups between team in their division as was intended. You could still keep interleague play but put it on a rotating schedule like the NFL and do away with the "natural rival" nonsense.

I will not accept a DH in the Reds lineup while playing a home game.
