Not only the radio, but the epic NFL Films voice and "Inside the NFL"; his voice over those "Inside the NFL" highlight clips were of legend. Nothing the an NFL broadcast team can throw out there now will ever come close to how awesome it was just to watch that show, and hear him do the narrating.

Re: I could listen to Vin Scully all day

To me Vin Scully was the voice of baseball. I started getting into baseball in the mid 80's when he and Joe Garagiola would call NBC's Game of the Week. Now we got these clowns (Buck and McCarver) calling nationally televised games. And yes, I am an old man. I much preferred NBC Sports (their NBA coverage was great too) to any of the other networks.

I'm a Red Sox fan from New England and he's always been one of my favorites.

Being a Tigers fan my all time fave is Ernie Harwell. But, Vin Scully's voice is like a beautiful mixture of velvet and peanut butter.

Vin Scully is truly a great old-school broadcaster. But I love hearing John Sterling! He makes every Yankees game exciting!

That must explain it, I'm allergic to peanuts.
