Padres Trivia from (out of my league) -Dirk Hayhurst

Not sure of how many folks on here actually read books lol but anyways In Dirk Hayhurst's "Out Of My League" there is a character known as "Dallas" the real name of the player was protected out of respect but I know at least Id think a Padres fan would know who this guy was.

2008 San Diego Padre Traded mid season, was a reliever.

In the book he's the exact opposite of Dirk and they get in eachothers faces a few times just wondering if anyone has a clue as to who this is?

I'm going with Jared Wells. Traded in May 2008 to the Mariners, and he's from Texas.

This might not help, but if you're good at searching through things, I'll just provide this link.

He wasn't ever a top prospect in the Padres system (never in the top 10), spent his early minor league career as a starter and was drafted in 2002 and up until he was traded in that same season covered in the book, spent all his minor league career with the Padres. He's also one of the bolded names and has some horrific numbers despite pitching for a good chunk of innings.

I adored his first book "Bullpen Gospels" and after I'm done reading "The Yankee Years" and David Wells book, I'll be getting "Out of My League".

I've also heard that he's going to write a 3rd book about his time with the Blue Jays. Apparently, he won't be nice like he was with his previous 2 books and will name names.
Can't wait for that!
