I jus saw their statistical chance of making the playoffs is like 36%. I know once you get to the playoffs anything can happen, but I just don't see how that pitching staff matches up very well with the other likely playoff teams.

AC said it best, when I made this thread the Jays were looking like a team that could take advantage of the randomness of playoff baseball and were trending in the right direction toward a division title at the very least. Of course, everything went pear shaped and now they're fighting to just get in and need a ton of help personnel wise.

The Dickey effect in a 3 game set intrigues me. There is a statistical effect of the knuckleball, my good friend authored a couple of posts proving it. Dickey leading off, then Hutch, then Buehrle could work.

Or you could go crazy. Start Dickey every game and leave him in for a couple of innings. Then yank him for a hard thrower. But mix in Buehrle.

G1: Dickey-Stroman-RP
G2: Dickey-Hutch-RP
G3: Buehrle-Morrow-RP

And loop. It's crazy, but I think it could work.

How has it been lately? I haven't look.

I did look at some of their numbers and didn't realize the month of May when they went 21-9, is the only month this season they've been above .500

I don't see them much, I just don't see them as a postseason team nevertheless a team that would do damage in the playoffs. I've been wrong often though, so take that with a grain of salt.

With the Jays? Good thing you haven't looked.

We're not a team that would do damage because of our quality. Moreso our tactics. But Gibbons would never do that.

Injuries killed the Jays...they still have a shot tho to sneak in as the 2nd WC. I just laughed at Navarro batting cleanup for you guys though....

I also had no idea how Shelby Miller shut you guys out either. He has been bad this year.

Shelby's got talent (new TV show?) though, we know that.

Yeah, no, they all bunched up at the same time. Edwin, Bau, Lawrie, Lind is four regulars right there, Rasmus was gone for a while, and I'm assuming our regular 2B is injured cause Ryan Goins can't be our only second ba... oh. Wow. That sucks.

We have a chance at the second WC or a division title. We could use a couple of adds though.

The Jays probably have the best lineup in the majors when healthy though, so that's gotta be worth something.

Add Marcus Stroman to the mix. Small sample size, I know; but if you get a chance, watch this kid pitch. Electric stuff!
