Ehh...I don't know about that 55. He may not steal many bags but the guy can fly and run the bases pretty well. What happened?

I'm loving Shelby and it was a great trade because Heyward would be gone after this season while we have Shelby for several more seasons. I love moreso how he pitches. He's pitching around 92-93 but threw 3 straight 97s to Giancarlo to strike him out in one AB -- that's perfect pitching...throw at a comfy level and max out only when needed.

Why would Redmond get fired? I thought he was doing a fairly good job -- you'd think he'd get a little latitude given how young his team is.

Who knows with the Marlins. This next manager will be their 7th since 2010. Wow.

I don't have an answer for that other than "Because Jeffrey Loria".

Cubs announcers were kind of dumbstruck when they discussed it too.

Also...why the bench coach too? What'd he do -- but still keep the hitting/pitching coach? 7 of their 22 loses are against ATL (nearly 1/3) so that could be rectified.

Maybe it's me but something fishy comes to mind -- maybe something in the clubhouse, maybe the player's voices against Redmond (Giancarlo said the team is playing horribly in late-April).

I wasn't taking about steals at all. Those Manny Ramirez-esque basernning blunders the other night was what I was referring to. This guy was so hyped to the moon and has been so mediocre offensively. This kid is 6'5" and 245 lbs. He should be slugging the hell out of the ball, but he can't. A sub .400 SLG from a guy his size and his prospect status is inexcusable.

He is a ridiculously good defender though, I'll give him that.
