Wow, I thought DeGrom would at least be among the finalists for MVP even if he didn't win it.

Finalists for sports awards have to be up there as one of the dumbest developments across the sports landscape in recent years.

I agree, I hate how sports awards have basically turned into Awards Shows. Luckily it hasn't quite turned that way in MLB but we're inching close to it.

I hadn't been paying attention to who the "finalists" are, but wow...how is JD Martinez NOT one of AL MVP finalists? That's a tough league...

Probably could've swapped J.D.s, but they didn't want two finalists from the same team.

At least that's my guess.
