It was sudden, the only thing I've read was due to his cost.

I haven't been this pissed since the A's moved on from Giambi.

I've gotten used to them keeping rosters together with economical rosters but Melvin found a way to make those team successful and was always the steady ways to make it work.

Former and even current players are posting on twitter how bad this is for the A's. I'd have kept him over any player any day of the week. Just a terrible direction.

Melvin + Niebla is a terrific start to the off-season so far

The A's as an organization not caring about things they should care about ... been experiencing that for seemingly decades. Not even really surprised or disappointed anymore.

Just all to do with Budgets really hope Melvin is the difference the Padres need. they have had so much hype for a couple of offseason now recently and just all gone to hell at the end. such a disappointing year it was for the Padres going under 500 after a great start

It was inevitably going to happen but the Mets officially fired their GM Zack Scott who was on administrative leave after getting a DUI. Makes me wonder if they’re cleaning house because they’re about to a hire a President of Baseball Ops

Tigers close to acquiring Tucker Barnhardt from the Reds.

IF prospect Nick Quintana is the expected player going to the Reds in the deal.

EDIT: Deal is done
