I think that will be the holdup on a Detroit/ Atlanta trade. Atlanta would want to get Cade and keep Trae which isn't really possible unless its for the #1 pick and Murray. I dont see Ivey and Trae working together as a starting duo.

I was thinking the holdup would be ATL wanting to move Trae and Capela together and Detroit not really having the contracts other than Stew to make numbers work, especially after moving Bojan. I'm kinda surprised the mindset from the other side is to keep Trae. I was thinking it's like "we're better without him, we got the top pick, perfect time to trade him and Capela and capitalize"

edit: I didn't realize we were both trying to get a Cade/Trae backcourt lol no wonder these deals never work

What's the trade value difference between Trae and Cade if its a 1 for 1?

like if they were swapped for each other? no clue, I did the Meta AI question and it basically said Detroit would have to give up Cade, Stew and 2 firsts for Trae and AJ Griffin to make things work. Other than that, I got nothin, and I doubt Detroit wants anything to do with that scenario

AI says Cade value 17, Trae value 22 (approx), idunno where they get these numbers, but they can't figure where Detroit's picks will end up next year when one lands #1 (as long as Detroit doesn't own it)

Re: 2024 NBA Draft

Sounds like Bronny is picking specific teams to work out for and that's it.

For a guy not even projected 1st round, you'd think he'd be open to playing anywhere.

Wonder if this is really him choosing or LeBron doing the reverse of what people thought (instead of LeBron signing wherever Bronny gets drafted, LeBron has already chosen where he wants to go and gets Bronny drafted there).

Think this has been pretty standard process the last few years. I know Austin Reaves had literally told teams to not draft him.

I feel like Bronny most likely has promises from teams either late in the first, early in the second, or he wants to go the unstaffed route like guys have been doing the past few years.

I feel like Bron does want to play with him, but part of me wonders if that’s next season or in 2-3 years after Bron signs one more big 1+1 or 2+1 deal with LAL.

If there is any truth to Lakers, Suns, or a team like Philly who’s been linked to Bron getting Bronny and by default getting Bron included it makes sense not only for win-now purposes but also for money purposes.

Re: 2024 NBA Draft

Haven’t kept up with this craft class much because on the surface it seems horrible. Not just top tier talent or “sure things” but even quality role players deep down the draft. I’m sure some guys will shock us and end up nice, but it seems ugly for now..

Doing a bit of homework to catch myself up this French kid (not Sarr) looks pretty nasty. Sarr’s size is intriguing as is every moderately athletic big in every draft but just basing it on what little highlights I’ve been able to see Risacher looks really promising.

I have no clue how Clingan is a top 5 pick. I just don’t see it. And if he’s rising so high because they are champs would he not also be prone to falling for giving up 37 and 10 to his matchup who isn’t even mocked to be a lottery pick? On top of that his draft measurements were trash.

Castle, Dillingham, Sheppard, McCain, Williams, Knecht, all are obviously good but they just remind me really lower tier role players. Most those guys are freshman so there is much growth to be had, but none of them just scream star potential to me. Going to be an odd draft. I’d be so tempted to trade down or for future picks.

True, but these types of 'weak' or 'bad' drafts is where your scouting and development can prevail, unearthing a HOF caliber career/player.

Tony Parker & Pau Gasol in 2001 (with guys with solid careers like Okur, Arenas, Gerald Wallace) while Giannis in the '13 draft.

We'd be lucky to see two let alone one HOF'er in this class, but I'm sure people said that those two years too.
