@ Regrette Not enough offensive fouls off the bench for the Lakeshow? Wouldn't you love it, HAHA.

I wasn't even going to address the Walton issue

That's like the Lebron having AI handles thing....if you believe it, you can have it.

Re: This thread isn't about Kobe, so don't start with that

Is it really necessary that the Lakers have more perimeter players that can create their own shot?

They have Odom who can create his own shot and make plays for other guys and Pau who they can run their offense through when they aren't going through Kobe. When he is on his game, they can go to Bynum as well.

All three of them are good options for the triangle offense.

The Lakers also get plenty of points off of fast breaks. The personnel for the Lakers are very good in the open court IMO. They also get plenty of open looks from deep.

So I think that the personnel for the Lakers are great for how the Lakers play. In another system, they might not have the best personnel. But the Lakers personnel match up perfectly with their playing style.

So I think the Lakers have a very strong supporting cast. Is there any other team that has a better supporting cast?

Lamar Odom creates shots....

I like the Lakers supporting cast. If they stuck with the triangle more I feel they would be better off. Those role players fit better in that offense but for some reason....well.....this thread isn't about that.

Anyone the Lakers are the best in the west what more do you want?

I wasn't inferring that the Lakers had the best talent.

Just that the Lakers have the best cast for their play.

The Pistons haven't gotten on any type of a role with their team even though they look like they have loads of talent on paper. Their starting five doesn't work well as a team. Their bench is suspect as well. The Celtics have a great and cohesive starting five, but a very lackluster bench.

The Lakers' bench is deeper than both of those teams.

The Lakers come off the bench with Odom, Ariza, Vujacic, and Farmar.

The Celtics come with House, Big Baby, Allen and Powe.

The Pistons come with Kwame, McDyess, Maxiell, and Afflalo.

So IMO, the Lakers definitely have the best supporting cast even though they may not be the most talented.

Anyway, if you could read some comments here you would think that the Lakers are Minnesota (minus Jefferson) plus Kobe.
