Which NBA franchise is the best at the draft?

I was just looking through the past NBA drafts. The Thunder have been really good lately. These are the picks that they made [some people did get traded].

2007: Kevin Durant, Carl Landry, Glen Davis
2008: Russell Westbrook, Serge Ibaka
2009: James Harden, Rodrique Beaubois
2010: Eric Bledsoe
2011: Reggie Jackson [havent seen him do much]

As a Bobcats fan I can tell you that they are among the worst at the NBA draft.

2004: Emeka Okafor [probably our best pick ever]
2005: Raymond Felton, Sean May [lol]
2006: Adam Morrison [at number 3!]
2007: Brandan Wright, Jared Dudley
2008: DJ Augustin, Alexis Ajinca, Kyle Weaver
2009: Gerald Henderson, Derrick Brown
2011: Kemba Walker [he will be good, but I didnt love the pick]

Pretty much this. They always seem to make excellent use of a draft pick regardless of where it is, it's rather annoying really when they're in your same division...

It's amazing how a team can continue to draft so well for years and still be in contention to win it all every year, even in their 'down' years. It's impressive when you see NFL teams do it but it's even more impressive when you see an NBA team do it year in and year out.

As a fan it's hard to argue with what the Thunder have done the past few years, but I'm sure that Sam Presti being a product of the Spurs probably has something to do with that.

The Pistons are in the running for the worst imo.

Re: Which NBA franchise is the best at the draft?

The Spurs are hands down the best drafting team in the NBA especially when you consider where they are getting contributing players. Outside of Tim Duncan who was a number 1 overall pick you have...

1999 Manu Ginobli 2nd Round 28th pick, 57th overall

2001 Tony Parker 1st Round 28th overall (last pick in the 1st round)

2002 Luis Scola 2nd round 26th pick, 56th overall (Spurs drafted him, but for financial reasons they were forced to trade him years later)

2003 Leandro Barbosa 1st Round 28th pick (Later traded to the Suns... but the Spurs made the pick)

2004 Beno Udrih 1st Round 28th pick (A contributing NBA basketball player, and probably the 15th or so best player from that draft with hindsight)

2007 Tiago Splitter 1st Round 28th Overall (Most likely gonna be a solid rotation player for the next 7-8 years)

2008 George Hill 1st Round 26th Overall (Very solid player, had to let him go in free agency)

2008 Goran Dragic 2nd Round 15th pick, 45th Overall (They flat out didn't have room to keep him)

2009 DeJuan Blair 2nd Round 7th pick, 37th overall (was a starter before aquiring Diaw)

2010-2011 James Anderson, Cory Joseph, Adam Hanga (Currently on the Spurs' bench or still overseas... Because, ya know, the Spurs are the deepest team in the league)

Ian Mahinmi was a solid pick too, even though they didn't keep him.
