He got crowned too quickly. We made too much of a lucky shot and him running through a depleted Warriors team. That choke against the Nuggets last year was incredibly telling

Teams that not only have title level talent, but also properly build around their stars. Think of the difference between the Lebron Cavs and the heat / Lakers. The cavs acquired players past their prime that didn’t fit in well with the offensive scheme of “let lebron drive and kick it out to a shooter”. The Heat and Lakers acquired the proper role players that allowed lebron to play his best style of game

Teams like the Nuggets and Blazers don’t fall into the same category because those teams arent good outside of their best player, especially the Blazers

He is clearly a top 5 or 10 player and can dominate on any given night, but he was never as great as people (stuck in the moment) made him out to be.

As much as I dislike the Mavericks, it feels so damn good to see Leonard & the Clippers lose. The series is far from over and Dallas is still at a match disadvantage, IMO.

Re: Western Conference Playoffs - 1st Round Discussion Thread

I said this earlier on paper the Clippers seem like a bad matchup for Dallas

But the Mavs have actually out played them all year not just in this 1st game.

Confidence is a scary thing and right now Luka has confidence vs anyone the Clippers can throw at him.

They tried to rough him up last year, tried playing zone defense and tried multiple defenders on him.

He adjusted to every challenge and right now there's nothing they can do to take away his confidence or shake him.

I feel like the injuries have left Kawhi with the legs of like a 33 year old instead of a 29 year old. He can still catch people like he did today, but he can't do it all game, every game, and on both ends of the court.

He came back and played at a super high level of course, but IMO that fateful playoff injury during that Warriors series short circuited his ascension as that full time great two way player, IMO.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Yeah, I hate to harp on it, but that degenerative quad (which he should've "recovered" from by now) has zapped him of lift/explosiveness.

He can still go top shelf every so often and compensates with more "bully ball" plus his freakish wingspan, but athletically he's not the same guy as 'Spurs' Leonard.
