The Noob Corner

Having not played PES in a long, long time, I have some questions concerning game options, here goes:

Which game speed is best?
Which pass type?
Difficulty?

Basically what I want to know is how do I set up the game for it to be as "sim" as possible?

This is what I am rolling with right now. Albeit I am not the best player or mental tactician.

Game Speed: -1
Pass Type: 0 Bars
Difficulty: Top Player
Shooting: Manual

I find with it on top player The good teams beat me often, and I can usually beat the lesser teams.

On Superstar I can win, but more often that not I lose by multiple goals to lesser teams.

Re: The Noob Corner

I agree with the user above, itīs a good set, but i would like to sugest a different setting.

First of all Orion, there is no slider tweaking in this game (thanks God because it really doesnīt need it).

The settings are all down to personal preference, this is what i use:

If i play with a top team (5 star) i choose Superstar difficulty.

If i choose an under 5 star team, i choose Top Player.

The speed setting on default (zero) itīs ok to me because the players get so tired in this game that the last 20 minutes of it moves at a snails pace if we lower the speed setting.

The pass assistance i use one bar, maybe in the future i use none, but for now one is ok, i have great, realistic pass percentages on the low side. Perfect. For through pass i use manual on Top Player and normal on Superstar.

I donīt use manual shooting because i actually find it easier to score once mastered (wich is not difficult at all). The normal shooting introduces more error and randomness in my opinion.

A couple of important things:

- Donīt select short grass. It looks AWFUL, normal or long look beautiful though! Also, short grass makes the passing quicker, and long makes it slower, just like real life.

- Remember you can set your teams instructions and tactic for offense AND defence with a LOT of detail and it is awesome.

- Enjoy the absolutely awesome A.I. and let your chin fall on the ground when you realize the A.I. actually SHOOTS the ball outside the box... OFTEN!!

EDIT: Also, enjoy the fact that you will immediately recognize the players just by the way they play, look and move! You donīt even need to look to the player name bar. Aaaand another thing... teams DO play differently from each other in an incredibly obvious way!

Don't forget to turn Fluid Formation on, such an awesome little feature for tactic junkies.

This.

Fluid Formation is a great feature and really makes you feel like you are watching a real game, where the team balance shifts from offense to defense depending on what happens on the pitch.

I have to disagree about the game speed: I think it's perfect at default. On older PES I've always played at -1 (PES 2014) or even -2 (PES 2013 and 2012), but this year the game is so fluid and smooth that 0 game speed recreates real life very well.
The pace of the game is perfect, and IMO at -1 or lower it becomes too clumsy.

At 0 you'll still have moments of slow action and slow build up (especially from the CPU), but you will keep some of the pace that makes soccer entertaining.

EDIT: GAMEPLAN > CHOOSE MANUALLY > TACTICAL OPTIONS > FLUID FORMATION

I will have to try 0 for game speed. Thanks for the tips guys.
