Mangini stays with the Pats

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/column...len&id=1990178

Turned down more money to stay with the Pats.

The article said Belichik brought him in as a coaching assistant in 95. That would make him 24 or 25 years old. That's gotta be the youngest assistant coach in the league. I wonder what kind of resume he had at age 24 to land a coaching gig in the NFL.

The Seahawks were granted permission to talk with Pioli. Pioli never said he was actually going to interview for them. There's really no way Scott is going to the NFC, that's why Kraft gave Seattle permission to talk with him but declined it for Cleveland. Even if he does, the compensation will be off the charts.

he'll take with them. In business and as you'll find in your career, if someone is interested in you, it doesn't hurt to listen when they want to talk.

Chris Mortenson said on ESPN that Seattle offered Pioli a contract worth 2 or 3 times what he's making but he's going to decline it.

Don't forget Pioli said earlier this year that he will finish out his contract with the Patriots. I believe that one ends in 2 years.

I guess we'll have to go after Pepper Johnson then. I thought Mangini for sure was coming to Cleveland because his brother-in-law is the GM for the Indians.
