Chargers to Franchise Brees Today.

Can you explain why they would use a tag, and give up atleast 7 mil on a non-starter?

I wasnt aware that Bell wasnt a starter.

They probably wont use it on anyone then, not like you have to do it.

That's just it... if Steelers ARE stuck with him, he'll still be somewhat useful.... just probably not in the way most people expect. Burress on the field frees up Ward and Randel El... Plax on the field stretches defenses... even on plays that Burress isn't used, he still contributes to that running game in that capacity.

Bell is already an unrestricted, you'd think they'd have slapped him with the tag by now if they even contemplated it.

There's less use for Bell than there is for Burress, which makes it an even crazier move to tag Bell.

I never expected Brees to come to Dallas anyways. He has never played for Parcells and he is under 40 so the Cowboys would not have been interested. I do like Brees though. I heard a story though that there is some fighting going on with A.J Smith and Marty about keeping him or trading him. I wonder who wants to keep him? I bet it is Marty.

Well BK take it with a grain of salt. This came off of Hacksaw's new wire hotline...lol On XTRA. So the chances of it being true are 50/50 at best. But it is a story that is out there.

Hacksaw, has an axe to grind with the Chargers, he's always looking to make things bigger than they are witht the Bolts front office.

I just don't listen to XTRA anymore. Ever since the Chargers didn't re-sign with them, they have gone out of their way to bury them. Most of their good shows have migrated to ESPN 800 or 1090 anyway.

Dave and Jeff show on ESPN 800 is about the only local sports talk I listen to anymore .
