Jets to acquire DT Kris Jenkins from Carolina

For a 3rd and 5th rounder says John Clayton:

Quote:
Plenty of trades are expected to be announced Friday. The Packers traded franchise defensive tackle Corey Williams to the Browns for a second-round choice. Williams is expected to sign a six-year, $38 million contract. The Saints are close to finishing a trade for Jets linebacker Jonathan Vilma. Panthers defensive tackle Kris Jenkins is heading to the Jets for a third-and fifth-round pick. Vikings wide receiver Troy Williamson will go to the Jaguars for a sixth-round pick. Lions defensive tackle Shaun Rogers and Jaguars defensive tackle Marcus Stroud are also on the trading block and deals could move quickly involving them

Thoughts Carolina fans? My knowledge of him ends with the fact that he's a big guy

well considering he was the panthers' best d-lineman, and they are beyond horrible at drafting, they got nothing in return.

I see no upside in doing this. A 3rd and a 5th. Incredible.

Considering the production the Panthers got from the front last year, the Jets got hosed.

Jenkins is productive if healthy but thats been the problem. I think a 3rd and a 5th is a pretty nice deal for Carolina.

Re: Jets to acquire DT Kris Jenkins from Carolina

I think he's a better fit for the NT than Rogers would be, so I'm happy about this trade.

At least I can't complain about the Jets not being active during free agency. Already 2 trades and the possibility of signing Faneca. Much better than last season where all we did aside from the Jones trade, was sign a bunch of retread DE/OLB's.

I wonder what happens with D-Rob now. Coleman most likely will start at 1 of the DE spots which leaves D-Rob and Ellis to battle over the other. Wouldn't be surprised to see one of them traded because it would be a lot of money to pay whichever one ends up as a backup.

Robertson is on the trading block but his 9.8 million dollar salary figure is keeping some teams away.
