I'd probably take MJD because he's a better all around player. He's a better receiver/special teams guy than Bush is at running between the tackles. I think people really don't give him enough credit for catching the ball and the return game. I'm not really bashing Bush because I think he's so versatile that he's kind of inventing a new positon, but I just like MJD better.

Re: Jones-Drew vs Bush Who would you draft now

Reggie Bush could have been a 1600-1800 yard runner and 1000 yard receiver for the 2002 Raiders. Charlie Garner used to end up breaking free into the open field with absolutely nobody around play after play after play with Gannon spreading the ball around in 3 and 4 WR sets so much. It gives me chills to think about the jukes Bush could have put on people with nobody but one person to miss in the open field consistently.

Unfortunately...

That's about the only system that I can see him being the clear-cut, #1 back. He needs to really be in a spread offense where he can take a draw or counter and really catch a defense off balance. Receptions out of the backfield are obvious, but lining up in a Power I formation or trying to slam it up in between the tackles, I just don't see. He likes to dance around and spin too much to really be a feature back in a "conventional" offense. Maybe the 2000 Rams, 2002 Raiders, and that's about it.

Jones-Drew almost any day of the week for me, but in all reality, I would probably find a way to craft an offense built around either guy...you can't just plug and play either one in "any" offense, but MJD would be a guy who could fit in more systems.

If he was in a rams system during the greatest show on turf time or playing Kev Faulk's role but on a full time basis with the Pats or like how Philly uses "the weapon" I think he would put up numbers. I think the Saints have to open up the offense a bit more to fully utilize his talents.

First thought that came to mind was Philly's offense for me. Thing is I wonder how many people straight trashing Bush actually followed the Saints. Duece is a HUGE player on that team and he was gone for pretty much the entire season. If people really think MJD would have had a huge bump in production without Taylor then ask yourself, why did Taylor keep starting? The Saints needed Duece and needed their line to play a little better too. Not to mention Bush's injury while trying to be the focus of the offense only a year removed from college.

MJD or Bush? I don't know. I'd say it depends on the system and what's around them. It's certainly a whole lot closer than most are trying to say.

You should be given an infraction for having such a lame comeback.

As for the question, probably Maurice Drew.
