Way to show how two faced the NFL is given that the Patriots didn't forfeit the 49ers 1st Round pick for cheating.

I understand what your saying but didnt the Patriots lose their first round pick anyways? They just got lucky that they had that pick from the Niners on top of it, but it isnt like they went unpunished through it all.

They lost their first round pick yes, but the logic was the NFL could not touch their pick from San Francisco. How the NFL can say that and then make the Bears and 49ers switch Third Rounders defies any intelligent logic. The Pats should have lost their first, 1st Round pick, which would now be the 49ers' slotted pick.

From what I can gather, the only solid evidence against the 49ers during the hearing was a phone record of two calls the club placed to agent Drew Rosenhaus, who represents Bears linebacker Lance Briggs.

One story is that there were two "missed calls" with no voice messages. The second version - essentially corroborating the first report - was that there were two "20-second" phone calls. In other words, a 20-second phone call is a "missed call."

Da Bears...

Is there any specifics on who actually brought all of this out? I mean the Bears are a team who are known for being "cheap" and not wanting to pay their players, so maybe this is an alternate way to get up in the draft!

But realistically I'm sure it will all get blown way out of proportion and will fill in the gap that is the off-season at least until the draft gets here. It's like we always have to have a story hit in between the combine and the draft. I think the media must pay a lot of money to bring these stories out!!

I don't know, I think regardless of the timing the NFL taking these actions would, or at least should have been big news whether now or midseason.
