That's been rehashed several times.

At this time, Favre doesn't need the severance checks from the NFL. The Packers don't need him to sign the papers because they are well under the salary cap w/o his official signing the papers.

Plus, the Packers are retiring his # the first game of the season.

maybe this is a publicity stunt by favre and the packers? maybe he isnt really retiring..im not going to believe it til he sings the papers
