i watched some of the pats game tonight

and dam, this has to be the boringest thing i ever seen in my life. I like the games but im shocked at how you can even call this a sport, theres no athletitsism at all, they walk around for 3 hours and play for 10 mins. Its clear to me now why this can only exist in america

The Canadians hate you now for ignoring their CFL league. I think Japan actually has a league too

Boringest is the bestest thing ever imo

Hey just remember this, the Canadian brand of football is older then American football

Back to the original post: If you're basing the NFL on preseason then that's not really fair. NO ONE really plays all that hard in preseason except guys with something to prove.

the fact that you dont know how to spell "athleticism" probably means that you dont know what it entails. To say that American football has no athleticism is a very uninformed statement.

I take it you are a rugby fan? Many rugby fans dislike American football for some reason. It doesnt have to be one or the other. You dont have to be threatened by American football. Both are fine sports, but very different sports.

anyway, besides the wide range of athletic skills required in American football...it is a game of strategy. It is mainly about fooling your opponents and using different players as tools more like a chess match. It is a very tactical game. You have to understand the strategic aspects before you can appreciate it. Even then, it's not for everyone though.

but hopefully now you know how to spell athleticism

The guy is a walking tool.

Just look at his post history. Most of his posts come in the Madden and NCAA forums, both of which he apparently purchases. I've seen at least 3 posts of his that say how football has only 11 minutes of actual action blah blah blah. He's all about putting down Americans and Madden/NCAA fans (despite the fact that he's consistently posting on Madden/NCAA forums and he even claimed he's a college football fan). All the evidence is there in his profile.

He just wants some attention.

On to the topic, however:

The thing about football is that it is a strategic game... more than any other team sport I know of. The time in between scrimmage is not because players are lazy and need to restm (though the rest makes sure that players perform to their greatest ability each and every play); it's also so coaches have time to device the next step in their game plan. It's a coach's sport more than a players sport. Think chess. Football is just a big chess match. Or Texas Hold 'Em Poker. You're always trying to read your opponent, and you have to think a few steps ahead. There's so much strategy involved in the game, and that's what most people enjoy about it.

There's no drama in preseason, so don't (pretend to) base your opinion of football on it.
