I disagree, but it is cool. I don't like Jackson either, but he needs more time. My problem is we don't have time. They need to win now. So start Gus and you will win more than you do with Jackson.

I think before we totally close the case on Jackson we need to take care of the garbage play calling that has been made in both games. So predictable, so bad. If he still fails with decent play calling, then cut him.

But seriously, our play calling is beyond stupid.

If Booty is the answer, you're asking the wrong question.

I don't get what his arm or mobility have to do with leadership. You didn't really say any reason why he can't be a veteran leader to manage the offense... much like Dilfer did in Baltimore and Collins will do in Tennessee. As for Jackson, if the team didn't win the game then just about every mistake can be considered costly by every player. If you're stuck on a QB just being an arm in mobility then it makes sense to blame everyone but him.
Gus Frerotte is a second-rate QB that's an eternal backup with no leadership. Dilfer was a very conservative QB that made terrific decisions and hardly made mistakes because he was smart and instinctive and had a decent arm to boot... Collins has a strong arm and is a seasoned veteran. Frerotte isn't either, he's just old and you seem to think that gives him the ability to suddenly manage games and make no mistakes. I'm sure even you remember Brad Johnson, one of best game managers in the NFL at this point -- even BRAD stunked it up with Childress at the helm.

I didn't suggest that the plays weren't limited, I was explaining why they may have been. How does throwing deep passes change that thought? There are definitely some simple deep passing plays. It's just like everyone talking about Billick's playbook going from MIN to BAL. Between Jackson, WRs that aren't very good and WRs that may not know enough of the plays b/c they're knew or whatever reason, his options are limited. It may be possible he could do better with the limited book he has, or maybe he needs to be a better teacher. I'll give you that, but the players aren't up to snuff.
I'm sure even Peyton would be severely limited if his playbook consisted of a slant, a play action rollout, and handing off to Chester or Peterson. Those are our only plays. I'm not joking.

And for whoever's comparing Jackson to guys like Cutler and Rivers, etc.: just stop. Those guys have the luxury of being on vertically-oriented units and are surrounded by coaches and personnel that fully maximize their abilities. Granted, Jackson will never be as good as them, but we don't need him to be. We want him to manage the game... gaudy statistics and top flight arms aren't requisite for that.

That is all that Jackson can do. Watch it next time and see when they do open it up down field or patterns to the outside, see what Jackson does.

So because he made 3-4 bad passes (around there) it's all he can do? Manning threw more bad passes than TJ did all game!

Manning had the pressure of that D on his *** the whole game. The pressure on Jackson was no where close to what Manning had to go through. By all means open up the play book and watch Jackson.

I already have. The most recent evidence being 20 seconds left in the 1st half.
