Wow,..2008 has been a rough year for Matt Jones. He really needs Jesus Christ in his life right now.

Guys this is because of the offseason arrest, not a new problem. The case just was going to trial, but they reached an agreement. What I don't know about is how he is being suspended for violation of the league's substance-abuse policy. You get 1 free failure unless it is for steroids. The next test you get 4 games. So how did Jones get 3 games? I think he has a valid case for appeal and that is why nothing has been released yet.

If he was suspended under the player conduct rule, then that is ok, but not 3 games for substance-abuse policy because that would violate the current policy that the NFLPA agreed to.

don't know if there's a set number of games but i'm pretty sure if you settle on a court case, that's admitting guilt and you'll be suspended automatically for that.

If it was a felony, yes, but it was either a misdemeanor or no actual conviction and all charges dropped if he completes the program.

Schefter said its no suspension yet, just a notice, whatever that means.

As far as I know, any cocaine charge is a felony.

Felony was dropped because Arkansas has a drug court which you can enter a program and if you don't fail any test, all charges are gone. So right now, I don't think the felony is there any more and don't know if he technically has any charges against as the felony would be suspended based on the outcome of the program treatment.

Looks like he is going to play right now because he practiced yesterday.
