Re: Clean hit?

After taking another look... it's as clean as can be. Ward puts his shoulder into River's shoulder/side. It just so happens that your head and helmet is above your shoulder so, yeah, I guess your helmet is going to impact the guy too. What is he supposed to do, duck his head away or something?

Re: Clean hit?

Ward loves to hit people when they aren't looking. He is a dirty player who makes crushing blocks legally and illegally. I can't wait for the day someone cleans his clock and puts him out for the year.

Re: Clean hit?

Someone told me in class tonight that Steelers fans were throwing Ward a "block" party in Pittsburgh because of this past weekend, or maybe just his past fines? It didn't sound like a joke.

Exactly. I don't wish injury to anybody but I'd compare it to an American League pitcher who had a rep for throwing at players heads.

Re: Clean hit?

sucks that the guy got injured, but what was dirty? if it was somethign about "how" he did it like helmet to helmet, but the block was not dirty, dude was trying to tackle the other dude who had the ball. Hines stopped him from doing so, and from eatin everything but soup.

Where I think it becomes a borderline hit, is it appears to me he dropped his head and lead with the crown of his helmet. At least it appears that way to me.

Keep waiting dude.

I have heard people say the same thing a million times and it hasn't happened yet.

Even if it does, he wont complain, because he knows thats part of the game.

He is not a dirty player, he is a hell of a player who isn't afraid to block like most wide outs.

I find it funny that guys like Bart Scott have such a huge problem with the way Hines plays considering defensive players live for hits like that.

If you ask me, many of the defensive players who complain the most are guys who are afraid they will get embarrassed when a 5ft10 wide receiver cleans their clock on tv in front of a million people.

I am extremely happy that the guy is a Steeler.
