You know what sickens me? The national attention from people on ESPN saying the Lions should lose their Thanksgiving day game. We get it. They haven't been good in a few years. It is a tradition and has been so for a very long time. It would be stupid to not let them play on Thanksgiving.

Are they really saying that? I know the Lions have sucked for the better part of a decade now but it's still tradition. It'd be like having the Macys parade without floats.

I've heard it at least 4 times on ESPN, (granted - they were just discussing the possibility, I don't think anyone was FOR it) and I've read it on ProFootballTalk.

The game isn't even a sellout this year. If it doesn't sell out, I guarantee the end of the Thanksgiving day game is near. The league has talked about this move for a while. They really need to sell that team. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing the Lions leave Detroit.

Honestly, if the big three auto companies don't turn it around, the area might not be able to support a team. If they file Chapter 11, those $80/hour assembly jobs and pensions might be gone.

Yep, but that includes the cost of their benefits. You can make a cool $45 or $50 an hour pressing a button a few times a minute.
