Re: Overtime Needs To Be Changed....

O/T should be decided by an NFL Trivia game/test

OR

Each team gets one chance to answer the quesiton correctly...

For instance...Can an NFL game end in a tie?

McNabb would've answered 'NO' and the game would've been over and Cincy would've won.

There is nothing wrong w/ the NFLs O/T

No, but they did defer the coin toss in OT against the Bears one year.

Re: Overtime Needs To Be Changed....

I heard an interesting idea this week. Sudden death, but instead of starting OT with a kickoff, the team starts with the ball at their own 5 yardline (or wherever the break point would be for wanting the ball, or wanting to give it to the other team).

Hopefully that made sense.

Either keep it as it is.

Or the team with the most points after a 15 minute extra quarter wins. If its tied after this 15 minute OT. Playing another extra OT. And continue until someone leads after an OT period. More fairer imo.

But sudden death is more exciting, albeit at the cost of controversy.

No they don't,not when there's two teams with better records and another with the same,I don't know how tie breakers work but that may be three teams that should've been in over the Chargers and they sure as hell shouldn't get the home game. If they beat the Steelers they're getting another home game over another team with a better record than them.

Same goes for Arizona who's getting another home game over another team with a better record and again depending on the tie breakers may not have even been in the playoffs because there's three other teams at 9-7. Win or lose there's no justifying it.

Cry me a river. The right teams were in the playoffs, just get over it.

I said it in another thread, but I'll say it hear to. Leave it be. Everyone is going to whine about it until next season starts, and then no one will care anymore. The only two teams that "missed out" lost to an 8-8 team by a combined 43 points. Let them stew.

Re: Overtime Needs To Be Changed....

Just make it first to 6 wins in OT. It will keep teams who drive down the field on the opening drive from just settling for a FG.
