Well the story of Cinderella is about a girl who's had nothing but bad breaks her whole life. Her mother dies when she is young, and while her father is a good man, he is swept off his feet by whore (not canon but it's never explained so I like to imagine that the stepmother is a gold digging whore) that he attempts to make into a housewife. Then her father dies and she has to live with the whore, who hates her, and her ugly tramp step sisters. She is not allowed to go to the upcoming ball the prince is throwing, but fate decides that it's time she gets her due.

With the help of a fairy godmother, she gets to attend the ball and surprisingly makes a big splash at it. The prince, bored of seeing all the old familiar faces of the community is surprised to see this new fresh face to the party and must have her. The story goes on that ***SPOILER!!*** Cinderella eventually marries the prince and lives happily ever after***END SPOILER!!!***.

So, in the story, after seeing how life was such a bitch to Cindy, the audience roots for her to finally get a break, which she does. The same is applied to sports teams. Fans like to see those fresh faces at the party and like to root for them to succeed.

AKA Fans hate seeing Good teams remain competitive for a long time and love seeing Bad Teams who've struggled for a long time get their 15 minutes of fame.

Umm....yes. Why do you think people hate the Pats right now. Because they win consistently, when they fall back to normalcy no one will care about them and just move on to the next good team at that time.

Why do you think people wanted the Rays to win the WS, because it is a fresh face.

They'll be fine...the fans will show up and be crazy. I don't blame the fans for the first playoff game. The Cardinals had crapped themselves to end the season, I wouldn't have wanted to pay to see that playoff game either....The team has given fans a reason to care.

People hate the Pats for a multitude of reasons, that's just apart of life now.

But whatever, just an bass ackwards type of deal, imo.
