I hate the Pats but they are one of the best run franchises in all of sports. If they weren't in the AFC East, I could see myself rooting for a team like this. Not as a favorite team, but a team I respect.

that was a potential weak spot for the Pats after the trade for Vrabel. I think Belichek has no one in camp who can hard rush opposite of Adelius Thomas. Great move, if healthy, for the Pats.

I think the only other team in consideration is the Lakers.

Not really.

They're certainly in the top 5, but I think New England and the Lakers have been able to adapt to nearly full-scale roster changes and still win.

While the Spurs have had some great draft picks and would be my #3 team, their championship success is built off of two no brainer #1 picks. LA and the Patriots have established dominance based off of lower draft picks, free agency, and "questionable" moves that worked out great and could only be made by superior franchises.
