Wide-eyed optimism.

Seriously...The Skins record vs NY in season openers is like 2-10; 12-21 overall in NY.

Factor in NY is @ home, and hands down the better team...

Redskins fans give new meaning to fanatic.

The New York Giants defense is not the defense to bust the rust off ....cough cough Clinton Portis....evidenced by a marginal performance this time last year 23/84 and 3.7 ypc. And guess what...the Giants defense is that much better and healthy, no major injuries...just bumps and bruises.

Re: Week 1:REDSKINS @ GIANTS

You could also say the same for the Skins D as well though.

The Giants will show the Redskins just how far they have to go to be a good team on Sunday.

I don't think the Redskins win more than 6 games this year.

Every fan base has it's share of fanatics. There is a raider fan out there that honestly thinks that this is the year for them.

Realistically, this is going to be a physical game. Until they prove it, the Giants are 1 dimensional, so are the skins. They both run the ball well. Defenses are usually ahead of offenses at this point in the season. Hell take last years game, IF and it was a big if, but IF the skins secondary could've caught the ball last year Eli has 5 ints, that's 5 more chances for the offense to get into a rhythm.

This game IMO will mirror what we all saw on Thursday Night. That said if it's close I like the skins (naturally) if it's a blow out I like the G-men.

JBH, just hates the skins with a passion, and it still burns that the Deadskins swept the Iggles last year.

.

Wow. Just...wow.

Your team is in free-fall. Of all the teams in that division that could lay an egg this season, the Cowboys are the most likely. Washington has improved everywhere, and should that passing game start to click they will go from decent to world beaters in a hurry.

Re: Week 1:REDSKINS @ GIANTS

WHOA Styles, just whoa. The skins will eventually need to rebuild the Oline. Last year was evidence of that, and they did NOTHING to substantially improve the line. Dockery and Big Mike Williams. The skins need to address the line and replace Betts. Jury is still out on the 2nd year WR's. The skins are better than 6-10 but are they better than 8-8 is the question.

Naw...it's the same thing every yr w/ this franchise.

This team begins to have real success in the 80's and early 90's where they win all of the Superbowls, during a completely different era of football, and have a front office all on the same page...a GM that actually knew player/personnel/scouting (Casserly), an owner leagues beyond Snyder, and built teams from the ground up.

NOW...it's flash and pizzaz of player signings that send the fanbase in a frenzy and the moment you win 3 games in a row it's "Pencil us in for the Superbowl".

At least w/ Philadelphia it's the glass is half empty, and rightfully so given the...we'll say....trials and tribulations it's been just to get to a stinking Superbowl...however to eventually come up short everytime in postseason.

What does E-A-G-L-E-S stand for? Can't when a conference champisonship game.

To me the one that is pessimistic of their team is far more grounded than the fanatical..."We got Haynersworth! "look at our trohpy case"...6-3 start..."Superbowl!"

...Oh and congratulations on your 2nd win @ home against Philadelphia this decade.

You guys gonna make it 3 to finish out the 2000's 3-7 @ hm vs PHI?

Passing game with what quarterback?

Dallas is 22-10 the past two regular seasons, and they got rid of the numskulls like Pacman and TO.

I'm not saying the Cowboys don't have anything to prove, because they absolutely do, but they're vastly more equipped than the Redskins to make noise.
